Runaway Train Causes Havoc on Northern Line
Rail Professional reports that an out of control engineering train unit caused disruption to Northern Line services on Friday before stopping at Warren Street.
All other trains were cleared by running non-stop until they were out of the danger zone after the runaway unit became uncoupled from being towed following a breakdown near Archway.
The incident began at 06.44 and ended at 06.57 and resulted in major disruptions to services.
London Underground launched an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident to establish the cause. The investigation is centring on the coupling unit and results will be published in due course.
